Kim is the author of ten books including 101 Leadership Reminders, How to Deal With Annoying People, and Pillars of Success (with former Secretary of State General Alexander Haig as one of the contributors). She is also the author of eight CD/DVD productions including Conquering Subordinate Counseling in the Fire Service and Real Leadership in the Fire Service is Not for Wimps! Kim holds a bachelors degree in management and a masters degree in organizational management.

The Volunteer and Combination Officers Section (VCOS) of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and Pierce Fire Apparatus are pleased to offer an educational training course designed by practicing chief officers that delivers real world expertise through an interactive educational experience. The course is titled "Beyond Hoses and Helmets – Strategy and Tactics of Leading a Volunteer or Combination Fire/Rescue Organization." The United States Fire Administration and the
"Beyond Hoses and Helmets" offers instruction in the following areas:

Listed below is the training session available from the New England Fire Apparatus Maintenance Association for the June Expo. This two-day program will be conducted by Ed Hamel & sponsored by New England Detroit Diesel. The two day seminar takes place at Fire Station #4 at the Eastern States Exposition Center.
